This is one of those images for which I’m struggling to write anything meaningful so please bear with me.
It was taken during a day safari in the Ngorongoro Crater in northern Tanzania and the reason why I probably like it is because it shows a couple of different “layers” of the crater’s wildlife, with the zebra grazing peacefully in the foreground and the wildebeests moving slowly in the background. Although it feels like there are no dangers, what you can’t see in this image is that there are a few hyenas just outside the frame circling, waiting for any straying young zebras or wildebeests.
Later this week, I will post a shot of what happened when the hyenas did spot an easy prey.
