Our long trip through Tibet and China started with a few days spent in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The place is a busy mix of locals, tourists, cars, monkeys and everything else in between… One place we went to while we were in Kathmandu was on the banks of the Bagmati River, a river considered holy by the Hindus, where many cremations take place each day. The place is full of gurus that just seem to sit there giving their blessings and hoping to get some money from the passing tourists for the chance to take a picture with them. The word guru means the “weighted one” as in the one full of spiritual knowledge and while this might be true I just have a feeling that someone that smokes so much “ganja” can’t be that full of knowledge. 🙂
