When I visited Iran for the second time, the focus was on one of its more famous cities – Esfahan, a beautiful, historical city full of amazing old mosques and palaces.
The most visited location in Esfahan is the Naqsh-e Jahan Square, located right in the center of the town and one of the most impressive sites here is Ali Qapu, a pavilion that marks the entrance to the former residential quarter of the Safavid Esfahan. Probably the jewel of the place is on the sixth floor and it’s where all the royal receptions and banquets were held – it’s a place called “the music room”. As you can see below the ceiling was really interesting, created in such a way to enhance the sounds coming from the performers visiting the palace.
