We came back from Iran today and we had a great time. We were in the town of Shiraz, a very interesting town with lots of history and very friendly people. One thing is for sure… What you see on the news about Iran is nothing like the actual country. I have never had anywhere else in the world a guide buying us a watermelon just because we should try the local fruits. People are that friendly and they will stop you on the street just to have a chat with you and practice their English. They will always ask you what do you think of Iran and if you think the people are friendly.
For the first picture from Iran, I chose a photograph of the roof over the Hafez’s tomb. Hafez is the most famous Iranian poet and he was born in Shiraz. The Lonely Planet guidebook says that Iranians will always have 2 books in their house. The Quoran and the poems of Hafez.
