As I mentioned in quite a few posts before, last December after my Antarctica trip I took a couple of days to explore Tierra del Fuego and then two days to see Colonia del Sacramento, a beautiful city in Uruguay just across the river from Buenos Aires.
I didn’t take that many images while I was there as I was already tired from a long trip and was happy to just sit at coffee shops and watch the world go by, but I did go out by the river one evening to catch some long exposures. This particular evening was really beautiful with the setting sun throwing a whole range of different colours onto the darkening sky. In the highres image you can actually see some of the taller buildings in Buenos Aires, far away into the distance.
In terms of post-processing, this was fairly straight forward, with just one curve to adjust the contrast. I’ve also switched the white balance to fluorescent to get the sky even more purple. If you’re interested in finding out more about how to shoot such images, join me for the blue hour and night photography workshop I’m running with GulfPhotoPlus next week.
