Wadi in Arabic means valley or riverbed and the mountains of UAE and Oman have plenty of these. During the rainy season some wadis get flooded, while others have water throughout the year providing a constant source of water for some of the villages. This particular one, pictured below, is located in Musandam at the top of the Arabian Peninsula. It links the UAE town of Dibba with the Omani town of Khasab. Just so you can judge the size of the mountains, look at the cars stopped in the distance at the base of the rock wall.
