I just spent the last couple of days on the Omani coast, about 400km south of the capital Muscat and although this was not a photography trip, I did manage to grab a few shots one of the mornings.
The weather was not perfect, with the sky being quite hazy, so while walking around looking for some interesting landscape shots, I came across this little fellow. And my little, I mean really small! One finger-length small! After a bit of research, I found that the species is called Arabian Toad-headed Agama (Phrynocephalus Arabicus). They’ve got a really expressive face and this particular one was not shy at all. He was happy to have the camera come very close, almost posing for it.
