Over the next few weeks or so I will be trying to blog a lot more often as I have a rapidly growing backlog of images from my travels this year and at this rate they might never see the light of day (or the Internet!). So, come back more often than usual.
One of the things I was really keen on trying this time in Madagascar was to spend some night time at the Baobab Avenue and hope for a clear night to experiment with some star trails above these imposing trees. The group was also very excited about this possibility so we set our tripods and waited for all the tourists to go and for the sky to light up. We were not disappointed. The night sky was gorgeous and the Milky Way was clearly visible – in this particular photo it’s the bright looking area at the top of the image made to look like that because of the 15 minute long exposure.
In terms of post-processing, I didn’t do much to the image except for pushing the brightness slightly and adjusting the white balance towards blue.
