Friday prayer #1

Looking over the blog, it’s been a while since I posted anything from Dubai and as the weather is getting better and better, I thought it was time to look through some of the recent images I shot here, hoping to soon get out and shoot more.

If you’ve lived in the region, you’ll know that the weekend here is Friday and Saturday, with Friday being the main religious day. A long weekly prayer takes place every Friday around noon and a few months ago I went around Deira with a good friend of mine to photograph the streets during prayer. There are usually so many people, that the streets around the mosques get filled pretty quickly when prayer starts.
