This past week I went a couple of times to the inaugural Xposure photography festival in Sharjah and I was pleasantly surprised to see some amazing exhibitions and quite a bit of documentary and street photography – Magnum was one of the big participants – which was really inspiring.
When you get serious about photography you tend to go through quite a few moments when you’re not sure about what you doing or which direction you’re going with your style. I guess these are those moments that artists referred to as “their muse having left them” (whatever that muse was). I can’t say I’m quite in that situation, but at the same time, I feel like I need some new challenges when it comes to my photography. As the good weather is arriving in Dubai, I want to force myself to go out and shoot different images than what I normally do – they might turn bad, they might turn good, but hopefully I’ll learn something along the way.
As for today’s image, it’s another photograph made during the prayer time on Friday in Deira.
