I’ve had a busy weekend, teaching a workshop for Nikon on Friday in Bahrain and then running a blue hour workshop for Gulf Photo Plus yesterday evening.
Blue hour is always one of those dicey things in Dubai as you never know which way the weather will go (particularly when it gets hot) so yesterday morning it wasn’t looking particularly good. The sky was covered in clouds and the visibility wasn’t very good. Luckily it started clearing up during the day and we were actually treated with some beautiful fast moving clouds, which was perfect for long exposures. When I took the photograph above, I was trying to explain to the participants that sometimes, if you notice fast moving clouds, it can make for a really good photograph if you can push your exposure towards a couple of minutes as it will start to look like a painting.
