I decided to take a break from the fog images (don’t worry, I still have a few to post!) so I don’t bore you and post quite a different shot taken at the observation deck of the Burj Khalifa. For those of you not familiar with the observation deck, it’s located on the 124th floor of the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, providing great vistas over Dubai.
On Saturday it was my second time there and while the first time I really focused on taking images of the outside, this particular time I tried seeing some new perspectives, focusing in little details. The one thing that really fascinated me was the way everybody there was watching the sunset in awe, talking about it and photographing it. So I started playing with the shapes, taking photos of the silhouettes against the early evening sky. Initially the images didn’t look very good, but I tried to really under-expose (this one is 3 stops under!) and as I looked at the floor I noticed the reflections. I got really low with the camera and this is what I got (even the post-processing was very simple).
It’s no amazing foggy sunrise skyline image, but I really like the way it turned out and I hope you do too! 🙂
