Slidefest 19
It’s hard to believe, but Slidefest, the event organised by the good people at GulfPhotoPlus, is already at its 19th edition. I’ve been fortunate enough to present in the first one (I think it was in 2009) and in 4 other ones after that and attend almost all of them. It’s been one of those events I always try to go to as you always get to see some interesting personal work and interact with like-minded people.
For the upcoming one, taking place Tuesday (October 12th) at 7pm, I’ll be showing a series of photographs from Chernobyl, the site of a terrible nuclear accident 30 years ago. I’ve published a few photos from that series already here on the blog, but there will be quite a few images I’ve never shown before. Add to that 6 more presenters with showing cool projects and it’s very hard to come up with an excuse why not to go! The event is free, but you do need to register here.
As for the photograph above, it was taken just outside Pripyat, the main town affected by the Chernobyl disaster, inside a former USSR army base.
