The Camel Festival #3
Since it’s a Thursday afternoon and the Middle Eastern weekend is just around the corner (those of you who are not based here might not know that the weekend here runs is Friday and Saturday), I thought I’ll post something light. Not light weight, as a camel can get pretty heavy, but something lighthearted.
If you’ve seen my previous images from the Camel Festival (here and here), you will know that this is an event running yearly in the Western Region of the UAE and where you can find things like camel racing and camel beauty contests. And at these beauty contests, it seems that the dark camels (just like the one in the picture above) are the most prized ones. This photograph wasn’t taken during the camel beauty contest, but I suspect that this camel did pretty well in the competition as it was a really beautiful animal. Of course, I’m no judge, so you’ll just have to make your own opinion about this. 🙂
