I didn’t get a chance yet to blog much from my recent trip to Kiev except for Instagram posts while I was there, but it was my second time in this really beautiful city and this time I brought some photographers with me. I was there for 4 days leading a photography tour for the Nikon Premium Member program and during this time there was plenty to photograph. Nikon Middle East also sent a videographer to document the trip and the resulting video is here.
As for the photograph above, it’s the huge 62 meters tall Motherland Monument, completed in 1981 which stands on top of a museum currently hosting a large exhibition about the war in Eastern Ukraine. This feels slightly ironic since the statue was build during the USSR days when relationships between Russia and Ukraine were much friendlier.
