Every year around July 14th, I usually post an anniversary blog post as that’s the date when I started this blog 12 years ago (not the photography website which was started way back in 2004 – the Way Back Machine has a broken snapshot of that initial website). If you’re interested, there’s also a snapshot of how basic the blog looked when it was launched.
On this anniversary this year I found myself on the shores of Koggala Lake in Sri Lanka, which is funny as the last time I was in Sri Lanka was all the way back in 2002! Many things have changed since then, particularly the fact that I am now making a living out of photography. Although at the beginning of this year I haven’t blogged that much, in the last few months I have found a renewed energy for blogging. That’s a reason why I really enjoyed spending a morning of going around Koggala Lake, riding a tuk tuk, camera in hand. For me, there’s nothing more peaceful and exciting at the same time than to explore a new place and see what it has to offer, photographically speaking.
