Although I have not been so consistent at blogging over the last couple of years, today marks fifteen years since I started this blog! The website is quite a bit older than that, but the actual blog I started on July 14th, 2007.
I didn’t really know what I wanted to write about exactly, but I did know I wanted to improve my photography and share some of the places I travel to with the wider world. There are now photographs from over 70 countries here and the whole photography thing ended up turning into a career – if you can call being a photographer a career nowadays. The Internet has changed dramatically in these fifteen years – there was no social media when I started. I think in a way it was more fun as people were more focused on reading and looking at interesting photographs then focusing so much on the number of likes those photographs acquire. But the world moves on and whether or not you agree with it, you cannot avoid it.
I will leave you with a fairly recent photograph (made at the end of last year on Socotra Island) which I think is very much in the spirit of why I started this blog. To travel to beautiful and remote places, camera in hand and hope to make some memorable photographs.
