One of the things I talk quite often about in most of the photography workshops I teach is how not to just focus on what’s in front of you. As photographers we tend to be so excited about what’s in front of us that sometimes we forget to look up or behind where more often than not you’ll find interesting new perspectives.
That was the case with the very atmospheric Gothic Quarter in Barcelona. The narrow alleys are full of interesting subjects, but when you start to look above you, you start noticing all these interesting shapes the buildings make, mimicking the shape of the streets or small squares below.
