Over the Christmas holidays we spend a couple of weeks in Texas and New Mexico, visiting family and exploring a few places I always wanted to visit. One of them was the White Sands National Park in New Mexico and although this photograph is not really about the White Sands, it was made from the desert looking out towards the Sierra Blanca Peak, the tallest peak in the Sierra Blanca Range, standing at 3652 meters.
I think what makes this view really interesting is the way all the layers of various landscapes just stack up on top of each other starting from a desert sand dunes all the way to a snowy peak.
Also, since I didn’t get a chance to say Happy New Year until now, I hope you’re having a wonderful new year with lots of amazing light!
