Stormy flight

Since storms and rain are a rare sight in Dubai, I try to get out to shoot anytime there’s some interesting cloudy storms. Unfortunately, it’s not always easy as rain in Dubai has a tendency to block roads and create traffic chaos. It was exactly the same this morning, but I did manage to shoot a couple of images I’ve been wanting to make for a while.

I’ve always loved the Ras Al Khor area of Dubai with its mangroves and bird life and in the last year or so, there’s a few new opportunities of photographing the skyline from new vantage points. My idea was to try and make something of the skyline and the many birds flying around and this was the result.
