With the holidays approaching, we have a house full of family visitors and we’re doing the usual tour of the UAE, showing them around and also finding out what’s new. One thing that never really changes is the beauty of the Empty Quarter (Rub Al Khali), the huge desert straddling the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman where we found ourselves yesterday after spending a few hours at the camel festival in the Al Dhafra Region of Abu Dhabi.
While I didn’t really have much time for photography, I did have with me the Fuji GFX50s, Fuji’s medium format camera, which I am currently trying. It’s a fairly easy transition since I’ve had both the XT-1 and XT-2 cameras and the interface is pretty much the same. I’ll talk more about this in some future posts, once I’ve spent some more time with the camera, but in the while, I’ll share with you this photograph of the gorgeous dunes lit up by the afternoon sun.
I’ll also take the time to wish a Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate it since I might not be posting anything before then.
