One of the really well-recognised places in Iceland is the Vik area, particularly this view from the top, looking back towards Iceland’s Southern glaciers.
I’ve been quite a few times to this place, but rarely with any sun there. This was photographed a couple of years ago, just a couple of days before my travel photography workshop group had arrived. I had just driven for the day from Reykjavik, hoping to scout some interesting places and I stopped to watch the sunset from here. Unfortunately that was the last I saw of the sun for about a week as the weather turned on us.
