When you get a new lens destined for architectural photography (the 19mm tilt-shift) you try to come up with as many locations as you know that could benefit from being photographed through this new glass.
One of those locations is the Level 43 at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road, one of the most used (and abused) locations in Dubai. Like I mentioned in a previous post from four years ago, I’m not too keen about shooting from here as it’s not a location that provides a lot of different angles and the same shot has been replicated over and over again. But it is a great place for seeing what the 19mm tilt-shift can do in terms of capturing a wider view of the highway below, while keeping all the lines nice and straight.
I also chose to go for a black and white treatment which I thought worked really well with the sun hitting the buildings on the left at a low angle.
