If you follow any photographer who is based in Dubai or has traveled through Dubai, it’s very likely you’ve already seen a photograph from this location as it’s probably one of the most popular spots for photographing Burj Khalifa. Although I’ve been shooting the city for a while, I had never been to this particular spot, mostly because I didn’t want to take the same exact photograph as all the other ones I’ve seen before. I found the place quite interesting, but not necessarily for shooting Burj Khalifa, but for having a look at the spaghetti of roads below.
I did however decide to post this photograph, mostly because of that small cloud surrounding the top of Burj Khalifa. I really like how it brings attention to how tall the building actually is.
Also, sitting at this location waiting for the sunset, made me think of this photograph I took in 2007 from a helicopter. It’s just incredible how much has been built in this area!
